Bhagwan (later OSHO): his 2 mistakesHe said, that he made two major mistakes in his life (source Wikipedia)
(I was no longer a sannyasin at the time, when he and many sannyasins moved to Oregon (Thank God)
He said the first mistake was moving to the United States, specifically to Rajneeshpuram in 1981. The move was reportedly recommended by his lawyer.
The commune later became the center of major legal conflicts with the U.S. government and local residents. These conflicts culminated in the 1984 Rajneeshee bioterror attack carried out by members of his organization.
Osho later said the move created unnecessary political confrontation and ultimately led to his deportation from the U.S.
The second mistake he said he made was giving too much authority to his secretary, Ma Anand Sheela. Sheela effectively ran the commune while Osho was in a long period of public silence.
Under her leadership, several crimes occurred, including the salmonella poisoning, wiretapping, and attempted murder plots. After these events became public in 1985, Sheela fled the U.S. and was later arrested and convicted. Osho later stated that trusting Sheela and withdrawing from direct leadership allowed abuses of power to occur.
He was a great spiritual teacher. I learned a lot and because of Him and my surrender to Him, I was given the special experience: My second satori and my Blessing (Link goes to new window to "who am I" website) AND the true theory of knowledge from the 'other side'.
Some will call Him a Master. We, the 300.000 disciples/sannyasins did and he himself did. He was human. He lacked grounding, connection to the surrounding physical reality, like Jesus the Christ had.
